 Park Place Mall and Local First Arizona Launch Competition Supporting New Local Businesses

TUCSON, Ariz. (June 16, 2025) – Applications for Start with a Cart retail showcase and business development initiative are due this Friday, June 20. The program is sponsored by Park Place Mall in collaboration with Local First Arizona.

The program supports and elevates Southern Arizona’s small business community by offering local entrepreneurs an opportunity to test the retail environment in a high-traffic commercial setting.

Participating businesses manage a kiosk for a day and gain exposure to thousands of mall visitors. A panel of judges selects one standout vendor who is awarded three months of complimentary kiosk space at Park Place Mall. In addition, the top three finalists will receive a one-year membership to the Local First Arizona Business Coalition, granting access to valuable networking, educational and promotional resources.

·      Application Fee: $50, payable by check

·      Notification of Acceptance: Sunday, June 30, 2025

·      Event Date: Saturday, July 19, 2025, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Eligible Businesses

The program is seeking applications from entrepreneurs and local brands that offer:

·      Handmade jewelry and custom apparel

·      Packaged specialty foods (such as candies, cookies and spices)

·      Home, lifestyle and wellness products

·      Beauty and personal care items

·      Trendy décor and gifts
