The City of Surprise is launching Spark Surprise, a new and innovative business development hub designed to help local entrepreneurs and business owners navigate city resources, receive guidance to start and grow a business, and connect with experts and peers. Serving as a one-stop shop for tools, knowledge, and connections, Spark Surprise empowers businesses to succeed and thrive in the community.

To kick off the program, the City will host its first event, “Show Me The Money,” on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 8–10 a.m. at the West Valley Arts HQ Gallery (16126 N. Civic Center Plaza). This free event will feature a panel of experts discussing how small businesses can access working capital and unlock new opportunities. Attendees will also enjoy a complimentary breakfast, opening remarks from Mayor Kevin Sartor, and a networking session.

Featured experts include Amber Cordoba of Prestamos CDFI, Tom Fulcher of The Idea Gardener, and moderator Dr. Brian Sandusky from the City of Surprise.
